“Uh, hello. You've reached Keisuke... I’m sorry, but I’m not able to pick up right now. Leave me a message and I'll try to call back. Um... thanks, bye.”

[With the recipe, baking doesn't seem all that difficult. They mix the dough together, as he does now in his own bowl, carefully, and then they put it on the pan and they place it in the oven for a certain amount of time. Fairly easy, then. It was the procuring the ingredients that was the difficult bit, back home. He's still amazed that they had better opportunity for food here than there.
He wonders if the same is true for Slaine, if he lived somewhere that... wasn't earth. Vers. He has no idea what he's talking about; the word is completely foreign to him.
His eyes are a little round at the whole bit about the moon fracturing, too. His stirring pauses for a half-second as he hears that before resuming.]
What's... Vers?
[Deer in headlights expression. Just a little bit.]
[Slaine's attention has turned to looking down at the dough thoughtfully, working lumps of flour out of the mixture. Although he did this with Dal Dal, it's different not having her at his elbow telling him what to do, or giving him advice...
But it wouldn't be much of a surprise or pick-me-up if she was doing work like that.
He glances up at Keisuke when he's asked that question, halting in mixing the cookie dough for a moment]
Ah...right. Vers is the name Mars was given, when it became autonomous instead of an Earth colony.
[Now that the ingredients are mixed, Keisuke starts to inspect the two, seeing if there were any differences in consistency. He... doesn't think so. Anyway, they're going to have to put them out on the trays soon, so he walks over to the sink to wash his hands before returning to the counter.
He's pulling over a tray and beginning to section out pieces that he thinks are big enough to eventually become cookies when Slaine continues.]
Oh. [Keisuke's education isn't good, but he knows Mars is a planet, at least. An Earth colony? He can barely wrap his head around the idea of it.]
So, [after a pause's consideration.] you've... been in space, right? What's it like?
